The Sekonic L-208 TWINMATE is a palm-sized analog light meter for hand-held incident and reflected ambient light readings. Small and light, the L-208 TWINMATE can also be mounted onto your camera or bracket - using the included hot-shoe adapter for quick, camera-positioned reference readings as you work. Though designed primarily for entry-level users, long-time shooters look to the Sekonic L-208 TWINMATE as an accurate, easy-to-stow, back-up meter. Owners of rangefinder cameras who desire and incident and reflected meter also appreciate the included shoe mount. A sliding lumisphere enables accurate incident readings. Retract the lumisphere, and you can now take reflective readings. The silicon photo diode receives light at an angle of 33-degrees , which is slightly narrower than the angle-of-view of a normal lens. A hold-and-read function maintains the reading for 15 seconds after releasing the measurement button to allow you time to evaluate your settings. A single, long-lasting CR2032 lithium battery powers the show.

Though it's EV range doesn't make it great for very low light work, it's great for most "normal" photographic conditions. I've used it as an ambient light meter with my digitals when I want that type of metering, and in both modes with my collection of old film cameras. I also use it to verify the metering of old film camera metering systems when I repair them. Obviously it's not a flash meter.
It works well and I carry it all the time in my bag. It seems fragile, but despite being banged around constantly, it continues to function perfectly. It's compact enough to mount on a flash shoe and comes with a piece to do just that.
I find the ambient light mode helpful for my slide shooting where I don't trust my cameras internal meters to give me the correct exposure. By getting close in reflected mode (when you can do that) it allows something akin to spot metering.
Overall, a nice thing to always have in your bag, taking up little room but giving great utility.

| Light weight Light Meter compact, and very useful for beginner.. maybe professional photographers. As a Photographer Student I have acquired satisfied exposure results from this product. I am pleased, and would recommend it to anyone. |

| The Sekonic L-208 light meter is perfect for my use. It's small, handy, easy to carry and use one-handed, or could also be mounted on my Leica rangefinder camera with the included shoe. Very flexible, and extremely good value. |
